Tip #7: Tell Others What You’re Up To

It’s one thing to set your goals, make your plans, and set an alarm for bed time. It’s quite another to tell others of your goals, your plans, and what time you plan to be in bed.

(I just love the movie Elf, don’t you? Telling others about our goals made me think of this quote. Random . . . I know.)

Here’s transformational tip #7: Tell others of your attempts to rise early.

It is much easier to give up, if no one knows what you are trying to do. Tell your husband and children what your plans are. Post about it on Facebook (no better accountability for when you are up too late!) Ask some trusted friends to pray on your behalf.

Who knows? They may want to join in the early morning fun!

A Chance to Take Action {and win some loot!}

Ok, so here is where the rubber meets the road, ladies. If you are feeling the need for more accountability, I want you to tell others about your HelloMornings plans. Blog about it, tweet about it, post about it on Facebook. Call a friend, text your hubbie, send an email to your mother-in-law (OK…maybe not!) whatever you need to do to break the ice and get others involved in your plans.

Every time you tell others about your plans this week, you’ll get an entry to win this beautiful red Blessings Padfolio. Our AWESOME ACs picked it out, just for you!

Here are a few examples of how to share this with others:

I feel so silly; I can’t figure out how to join a group! I used the link to sign up with my email and even put in my time zone- what next? I am on my kindle so it’s a little harder to navigate; did I miss something?

  • Allison says:

I tried to join, but the Eastern Facebook groups are all full. Do we have to join our time zone?

    • HisJules says:

No, Allison, you do not have to join your timezone, you are free to join any group, Some people who are in EST join CST or other groups just because their wakeup time may be later than some of those in the EST. You are free to join any group, and we are so glad you will be joining us for the challenge

    • Joyce Moy says:

Hi Allison, have you found your way to a group yet? I hope you have. Glad to be doing mornings together! 🙂

  • Joyce Moy says:

Love the accountability after I tell people my plans and goals. 🙂 My 5yo daughter pretty much will keep me accountable to everything I say, so I usually tell her my goals. :p

  • Mary says:

That early morning time is so precious…hate to see it go to waste. Trying hard not to beat myself up when I sleep in sometimes after our 3-year-old has climbed into bed with us at 2 a.m. AGAIN, for the ump-teenth time and the baby has woken up crying for his bottle a couple of times during the nite…just trying to see each new morning as another opportunity to start fresh and remember that this little kids stage is just that: a stage. It won’t last forever.

  • Barb Kennedy says:

well i have been trying to get up early time with God I am faithful at times and other time bummer. It would be even nice to get exercise in to

    • Susan says:

I have been making it a point lately to start my day with private time with God. I get up, use the restroom, brush my teeth, take my meds, weigh myself, record my weight and then get back in bed with my bible and a few devotionals. On a day when I have to work, my time is brief. On a day when I am not working, my quiet time is as long as feels right – more than once i’ve looked at the clock and seen that i’ve spent an hour or more with the Lord. This truly starts my day off in a good way. I have also started my prayers and thanksgiving the first thing when I wake up and ask for forgiveness the last thing at night.

  • justsooze says:

I have had a few years of upheaval and loss…during which I not only survived but thrived due to the grace of God. I find that my days flow best when I cover them in prayer from the beginning…and the more time I spend with the Lord, the more I crave Him. Looking forward to this challenge if I can figure out how to sign up

  • HisJules says:

So glad to see you both joining us in the challenge! You will love it I am sure!

  • Sarah says:

I love Elf TOO!!!! I’m really excited about starting this. Thank you!

  • shel25 says:

Okay, I’ve joined the challenge. I do not have children, so obviously no grandchildren, but I am married, approaching retirement age, have a sweet babydog that I compete in agility with, and longing to grow in my relationship with Jesus and be more intentional about this plus get in shape. Hoping that I can still fit in with this challenge even though I am not a mom. Well, except for my babydog, Casper, that is 🙂 I discovered this blog through the Holley Gerth blog and challenge to discover my God-sized dream. Excited about where this journey may take me. I shared on Facebook today and tweeted and hopefuly pinned about the Hello Morning Challenge. This tech stuff still baffles me sometimes – Ha Ha!
