Goal Setting for Dummies vision and goal setting Feb 23, 2026

This post is by Shaina Weisgerber.

I don’t actually like setting goals. I think I am so afraid of failing that I tend to lean towards just not making goals at all so I can avoid the downfall when it happens. Anyone relate?

So what am I even doing here writing about goal setting? To be honest, I really do struggle wanting to set goals and sometimes it seems like it is pointless to try to set them.

2025 has not exactly started out like I thought it would. We have endured Flu, a broken hot wat...

Seeing What God is Doing Feb 16, 2026

This post is by Tami Rodriguez.

Proverbs 29:18 MSG-

If people can’t see what God is doing,

    they stumble all over themselves;

But when they attend to what he reveals,

    they are most blessed.

I love this translation of Proverbs from The Message—oh how often I have stumbled all over myself trying to make great plans, blind to what God was doing! I’ve shared before that I love planning. I love planners! I’ve spent hours joyfully organizing planners to simplify or strategize my life. So...

The Word for the Year vision and goal setting Feb 09, 2026

This post is by Shaina Weisgerber.

Flourish.

That was my word for the year, last year. I had so many hopes and was just so sure that my life was going to reflect my word. I knew that God was going to come through in my newly scored job, in my marriage, parenting, and friendships. I thought I was wrapping up a season of drought, desert, and waiting. I knew that the twelve months ahead of me were going to be filled with flourishing in all areas of life. I was not naĂŻve to the fact that life hap...

Commit to the Review prayer vision and goal setting Feb 02, 2026

 Psalm 139:23-24

23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Something is wrong in my heart.

I know this because I do not feel right with the Lord and right with my husband. This has been the nagging feeling lately amidst the joy of the holiday season and the fun we have had. There has also been some arguing and uncomfortable times. This com...

One in a Schmoozle  personal inventory uniqueness Jan 26, 2026

This post is by Sabeth Kapahu.

It’s a new year and as much as I would love to tell you that there is a new you on the horizon…. you are the one and only you, and there’s nothing new about that.

The reality is, we don’t magically turn into somebody different at the stroke of midnight Dec 31st. We become somebody different with consistent intentional moment by moment choices. One at a time. We grow in our capacity. We discover new levels of our passions. We push our physical limits. We develo...

A Little Bit of Hope for the All or Nothing Personality personal inventory Jan 19, 2026

This post is by Jen Stanbro.

I feel like I need a T-shirt that says, “Woman who God is with,” because really, that’s what matters most about me.

In the past, people have looked at my life and commented things like, “Oh, I could never get up that early, I’m not a morning person.” Ha, neither am I.

“I could never homeschool my kids, just getting them to do their homework is a struggle.” Yep, same here. My kids are no different than anyone else’s.

“I could never be a foster parent. I’d get to...

Stewarding Our Gifts Well personal inventory Jan 12, 2026

This post is by Patty Lewis.

I have to remind myself and encourage you by saying that we should not mistake making goals, Reviewing & Previewing, and doing a Personal Inventory as a means of attaining perfection.  We don’t always realize it, but the tension is there.  The desire to do it right exactly or just not try at all.  Or, try, but choose only to see our failures.

Paul once said in Philippians 3:12-14 (New International Version)

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have alread...

In Service personal inventory Jan 05, 2026

This post is by Jen Shultz.

In a world where we are consistently challenged to become more self aware, I certainly still have some major blind spots. Knowing the things I do not do well is not always the problem. It is glaringly obvious I am never going to run a marathon or be able to lift heavy objects. My body just is not built for those things and if you knew how quickly I was able to list those deficits in my wheelhouse, you might be shocked. But, that is how the temporal has us focused—on ...

God in the Rearview: Seeing His Hand in the Year Behind You Dec 29, 2025

This post is by Lindsey Bell.

When my son was a new driver, he backed out of our garage one morning…without realizing the door was still closed.

Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt, and the damage was minimal, but there’s still a dent in the garage door to this day.

He wasn’t being careless. (He’s actually a pretty good driver.) He was just so focused on moving forward that he forgot to look back.

That little mishap taught me something: when we don’t take time to look back, we can end up doing dam...

Reflect and Respond preview review Dec 22, 2025

This post is by Jennifer Dixon.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall…."  Why do we put such emphasis on mirrors?  How many times a day do we check our reflection in a mirror?   When we look into a mirror, we RESPOND.  If there is a flaw that's easy to fix, we do so. Simple things like misplaced hair, or a speck of pepper in our teeth.

Interestingly enough, we are told that we are to use God's Word as a mirror.  James 1:22-25 exhorts us to be DOERS of the Word.  People who only hear it and don't DO wh...

Dwell on These Things preview review Dec 08, 2025

This post is by Patty Lewis.

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable--- if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy--- dwell o...

Annual Review end of year preview review Dec 01, 2025

This post is by Jen Shultz.

In business, employees receive an annual review. Performance is generally categorized into a few sections of importance based on the business and scored on some metric chosen by the company. There are many successes in our lives not covered by what a business would think is important, but what if- and just keep reading please- we looked at our year in review with a similar frame?

HelloMornings uses a three pronged approach to cover the areas where we as particip...
