Hearts and Seasons Apr 03, 2023

This post is by Rose Ward.

A need for change rests within the weary bones of winter as the bitter cold fades away, releasing the old and carrying in—new hope. Vibrant and complex colors fill the earth as the season begins to officially take its place on our calendars. As springtime blesses us with moments of fresh cut flowers eagerly awaiting to grace our tables, we breathe in joyful new scents with a renewed strength that helixes forth to shift mindsets; helping us match the divinely created b...

The Scripture Challenge god time scripture Mar 27, 2023

This post is by Shari Gabourel.

I don’t know if you are familiar with what an Internet challenge is, but because I have two daughters in adolescence, I quickly became knowledgeable.

An Internet challenge is a cultural phenomenon defined as “Internet users recording themselves taking a challenge and then distributing the resulting video through social media sites, often inspiring or daring others to repeat the challenge.”3 Due to these online influences and seeking attention by “liking” a be...

Why Move Time? move time Mar 20, 2023

This post is by Joanne Wu.

Move Time is hard for me to write about because I’m still in the cyclical three steps forward, two steps back pattern of making this a consistent daily routine.  It’s hard not to feel hypocritical writing about a rhythm I’ve been well intentioned to fit into my daily life for the last four years, but yet haven’t “succeeded” in the way I had imagined.  However, I’m hoping that sharing my journey with Move Time will inspire another person who also feels frustrated with ...

Slow Birding move time Mar 13, 2023

This post is by Deb Alexander.

I was born on my grandfather’s 54th birthday. I wasn’t able to get to know him very well—he died when I was very young—but I remember that he loved birds. He placed bird feeders all over his property in New Hampshire, and he and my grandmother even petitioned the city to rename their street to one that included the name of his favorite bird. Soon, that new sign replaced the old one at the bottom of the hill leading up to their home.

Because we lived a few hours ...

When Exercise Is Hard move time Mar 06, 2023

This post is by Tami Rodriguez.

We all know how important exercise is. Everyday there’s a new article telling us why we should lift weights for stronger bones, get some cardio for a healthy heart and lungs, get NEAT time (Non-exercise activity thermogenesis) because even if you do ALL that exercise, if you sit the rest of the day that’s bad too. It seems the internet is full of advice and… it all contradicts itself. But, even though one place may say to exercise x amount and another y, the one ...

The Greatest Love of All love valentine's day Feb 27, 2023

This post is by Janine Muniz.

After another Valentine’s Day, everywhere we look are chocolate hearts, little bandit bears claiming they have stolen the heart of the recipient are on clearance, and that little flying diaper-wearing boy, who threatened us with heart-shaped quivered arrows returned home. Then there was “Galentine’s Day,” an Anti-Valentine’s Day, where romcoms and sips of wine were enjoyed with one’s single friends which gave them a way to create fond memories. .

It was a day I w...

Don't Forget to Pack a Lunch plan time Feb 20, 2023

This post is by Shaina Weisgerber.

I was so excited to make a new recipe recently. I’ve been using an online meal planning service, and I was excited to follow the meal plan for the week. I got everything out and started to prepare the meal and then half way through realized I was missing an ingredient. Ugh. I had to stop everything, go get the ingredient, come back, finish cooking and the whole process was disrupted. Just today I was on my way to the gym and realized I left my earbuds at home ...

God of Love god time love Feb 13, 2023

This post is by Jen Shultz.

February is popular for showing how much you love your other half based on monetary expenditures. The dozens of long stem roses that will wilt and fade or red; heart-shaped boxes filled with chocolates have long since been the standard that commercialization created. I will be the first to say that I love both flowers and chocolate, but hear me out—even the most expensive flowers or the best chocolate money can buy do not equate to real love.

Love, God’s love t...

Plan to Be Present plan time Jan 30, 2023

This post is by Joanne Wu.

“What are your future plans?” the human resources director asked me. I blinked at the computer screen and told her through the zoom call, “honestly, I am not sure how to plan anymore.”  Though this interview happened in the fall of 2021, I was still processing how the pandemic rocked my ability to plan for the future.  If the pandemic has taught me anything, it is to hold onto my plans more loosely and embrace who and what is present before me more intentionally.

I...

Letting Go of Planner-Distraction plan time Jan 23, 2023

This post is by Jazmin Frank.

I have a planner problem. I think the internet world calls it “planner envy,” though I think a better phrase is “planner distraction.”

It started a few years ago when I discovered a planner that allowed me to customize the content, add stickers, and switch out covers. My life is a series of wanting items customized to fit my exact needs, so finding a planner allowing me to do just that felt too good to be true. So I purchased the planner and happily set about cust...

Entrust Your Plans to the Planner plan time Jan 16, 2023

This post is by Amy Mykytiuk.

Eleven years ago, I took on one of the most daunting tasks of my life, homeschooling. In a desperate search for guidance, I found a book by Marilyn Rocket, Homeschooling At the Speed of Life. My oldest son was seven, and up until this point in my parenting adventure, planning was not a priority. With four little ones at home, planning felt more like an impossibility.

Rocket’s advice on time management changed the way I viewed my daily schedule. She said,“You canno...

Planning to Plan plan time Jan 09, 2023

This post is by Tami Rodriguez.

Planning can make life so much easier. It can obviously help us be more prepared but it can also lessen stress and even increase our confidence. It’s amazing how as women we beat ourselves up when we forget something or an event sneaks up on us. If you’re not a regular planner, you probably have no idea how much you’re juggling and have swirling in your brain. You may know you’re overwhelmed, but once you write it all down you’ll suddenly have great sympathy f...
