Dwell on These Things preview review Dec 08, 2025

This post is by Patty Lewis.

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable--- if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy--- dwell o...

Annual Review end of year preview review Dec 01, 2025

This post is by Jen Shultz.

In business, employees receive an annual review. Performance is generally categorized into a few sections of importance based on the business and scored on some metric chosen by the company. There are many successes in our lives not covered by what a business would think is important, but what if- and just keep reading please- we looked at our year in review with a similar frame?

HelloMornings uses a three pronged approach to cover the areas where we as particip...

Half-Hearted Worship: When We Acknowledge God but Cling to Our Idols Nov 24, 2025

This post is by Kelli McLeod.

We Are Made to Worship

Every human was created to worship God. Period. There is no getting around it. According to the New City Catechism, “God created us male and female in his own image to know him, love him, live with him, and glorify him. And it is right that we who were created by God should live to his glory.”

And we do worship. Our hearts have an instinct for it, even if we don’t worship the One we are made for.

They exchanged the truth about God fo...

Coffee Time With Jesus prayer worship Nov 17, 2025

This post is by Shaina Weisgerber.

I love getting coffee with my best friend. We usually get together once a week or at least every couple of weeks. Whether we get together at our local coffee shop or at one of our houses, we sit, we visit, listen to each other’s life updates and just enjoy each other’s company. We always leave feeling encouraged and our hearts uplifted.

Lauren and I lived twelve hours apart for more than ten years. During those years our coffee dates were few and far betwee...

Reverence prayer worship Nov 10, 2025

This post is by Jen Shultz.

I grew up attending the only Catholic church in a very small town that happens to be located right smack in the Bible Belt. My humble church home had approximately twenty families, priests that rotated from larger parishes in larger towns, and folding chairs. My first glimpse of what most people thought of when I said I went to Mass happened at a wedding and then again at a funeral when I was very young. Interestingly enough, in those beautiful churches with their st...

Creative and Simple Ways prayer worship Nov 03, 2025

This post is by Patty Lewis.

As I grow older in years and in my relationship with the Lord, I have discovered I can enjoy the freedom He has given me in some creative and simple ways.  There are nice rules, guidelines and suggestions the church and other believers have laid out for me.  I have tried a lot of them.  They can be helpful, and they can also be cumbersome.  What seems to work best is when I lean into how He has made me, my gifts and my passions while adhering to His Word.  Also, rem...

Don’t Drift: Using Daily Movement to Stay Close to God movement Oct 27, 2025

This post is by Lindsey Bell.

When sea otters sleep, they often hold hands so they don’t drift apart. It’s called “rafting,” and it keeps them connected even while the water around them shifts and pulls. (Seriously, google it. The pictures you’ll find are adorable!)

I love that image of rafting, because it reminds me that our own daily movement can either draw us closer to God or slowly cause us to drift away.

That’s why daily movement is about more than steps on a tracker or calories burned...

When Exercise Feels Like “Just Another Thing” On the To-Do List movement Oct 20, 2025

This post is by Lindsey Bell.

I’m a list-maker. Always have been.

Though I can see the benefits of lists and how they help me accomplish things, there are also potential drawbacks.

One of these drawbacks is that critical activities (such as Bible reading, prayer, exercise, and daily quiet time) can become nothing more than an item on the to-do list.

So what’s a girl to do when exercise becomes “just another thing” on the list?

When Exercise Becomes Just Another Thing On The To-Do...

Moving from Reluctant to Willing move time Oct 13, 2025

This post is by Patricia Lewis.

This is my very first real blog post.  I am reluctant to begin writing, and the due date looms ever closer as I finally begin typing these words.  It isn’t that I don’t want to write it; it is that I doubt why I am writing it and if this is really what I am called to do.  Most of us can probably relate.

So, here goes…  I’m so glad to have you along for the very first steps of what I hope will be a long journey: a nice winding, meandering path of my moving from r...

Just MOVE move time Oct 06, 2025

This post is by Rachael Gilbert.

It was official, I could no longer see my ankles. I had entered my final trimester of pregnancy and due to my pre-eclampsia, everything from my eyelids down to my pinky toes looked as though I had been stung by a sea of bees.

I had no interest in moving my body, but the doctor’s order was for me to move for at least twenty minutes a day, even if it meant I was walking at a snail’s pace.

My husband was a personal trainer at the time. He volunteered to help get...

Perspective Tool - Working on a Growth Mindset growth mindset Sep 29, 2025

This post is by Patty Lewis.

I enjoy journaling.  That is a statement I would not have imagined myself saying a few years ago.  In the past it was something I aspired to but figured I did not have enough discipline for.  I have learned that I can do it my own way.

My version of journaling is very personal and does not reflect a system or a format, rather it reflects where I am at right now.  Since I decided to journal my own way, I have tapped into my personal creativity, and I feel the f...

The Power of Yet positive mindset Sep 22, 2025

This post is by Jen Shultz.

This month, we are focusing on mindset. Not to brag, but I am uniquely qualified to be writing on this subject since I have to reset mine about 150 times a day. I am a professional. All kidding aside, there are few habits one can create as powerful as a positive mindset.

Life is hard. While that does not sound the least bit positive, it is truthful. That being said, hard does not mean lacking in beauty or happiness. It just means that it is not as obvious for many ...
